Our Mission
BEAR-WITH-US is a program consisting of a group of volunteers in the Mammoth Lakes area that provide help to steward our bears and wildlife in returning to and surviving in the wild. Our priority is to have every resident, business owner, town, county and Forest Service employee work together to keep our wildlife away from humans and the waste we create and deposit in our trash cans and dumpsters, and develop a desire to live their lives and raise their offspring in the wild eating the natural resources. more

5/30/10 - A deer ran from the Snowcreek golf course into the side of a car driving on Old Mammoth Road tonight. Please stay alert!
5/28/10 - The Old Mammoth Rd neighborhood duck couple just lost the male ... the middle of the day, how fast do you have to be going to not be able to miss a duck in the middle of the road. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 25 - SLOW DOWN!!
4/22/10 - It’s that time of year again when we all need to expect a visit from a curious bear or two. They will be emerging from their dens, possibly with their new cubs, and seeking food. Please be cautious about putting up bird feeders during bear season. They are one of the biggest attractants to bring a bear to your home. Please take the easy and usual steps to prevent them from having access to human food and waste. Take your trash to the transfer station frequently, and take care not to leave it behind your garage door for days at a time. If you see a dumpster in town that is open or unlatched or not latched by a caribeener, please take the time to stop and close and lock it. This is so important for their protection, and we are the only ones responsible for making sure they don’t rely on human food source. Bears and other wildlife can be seen crossing many of our roadways and so PLEASE SLOW DOWN and stay alert especially on Hwy 203 by the water district, Meridian Blvd., Old Mammoth Rd., Minaret Rd. and Lake Mary Rd. If you need anything, or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us through this website.
